Upgrading Your Underground dog fence without spending a fortune
My dog used to be a dart. One of the dogs they see an opportunity and take off. It has been hit by a car twice, not so bad, and lost more times than I can count. Even in the old house, where a fence has existed for years, the laboratory 100 pounds would just jump the thing and the joy journey if there was nobody around. He had reached the point that she could not let out unless was on a leash or tied to something.
Just a couple of months, I moved into a new house with a huge patio. The courtyard was a large garden on the inside, too. And to my pleasant surprise, everything was connected to the perimeter of the underground electric dog fences. The former owner told me that the fence had been installed by a local company, and worked hard for their poodle fifteen years of age. Just before I moved, he taught me how to use the electric fence, and I expected to allow my dog to run free in the huge yard, unable to escape.
The fence originally worked wonderfully. At the moment my dog must first drive crash, I would not go near the perimeter of the yard. For a good week, he played the rest of the property while I tended to my new garden. This week, my dog never edged toward the border, and this allowed me to feel safe without having to watch their every move.
Unfortunately, that first week was the exception. After that, I realized my problem after problem with electric fence. First, the act of keeping my dog in the backyard seemed to do more harm within, and I came down one morning to find my new improved garden destroyed. This led me to quit my garden for the time.
Second, the dog suddenly gained the ability to break free of limits. Even with me watching, would start functioning, take off towards the perimeter, to absorb the shock and just bust right through the thing. This caused me to turn the power up high, raising the level of a force of impact seem unbearable, and she could hardly bear to see my dog trying to break it.
However, shortly after I found a smart dog way out again anyway. He approached the perimeter, close enough to hear the alert tone sounds. Then he simply sat there and let the sound thing until the battery died, an act that allowed him to run across the border. Is not the intelligence of dogs amazing? As much as I wanted to punish for that, I was really proud that he was smart enough to figure that one. Soon, he had no way to stop the dog from the conquest of the electric fence.
I called the local installation company to see if they could help. Apparently, most companies are now referring the product as a "system of containment." I guess "Electric Fence" is a little less politically correct. Full installation is recommended new, including new and improved system, thicker wire and wire installations around the garden area, which refers to the facility as "expert". In total, the cost of products and the installation was over two thousand dollars, which was far beyond my budget.
On the verge of giving up, I had a couple Internet searches and found some companies selling these containment systems online in a fraction of the cost that was cited. I called a couple of customer service departments and, possibly, to gather the information he needed. As a result, not even necessary to reinstall the system. The wire which is currently on the ground will work with any new fence that I purchased.
And the new regime had everything I needed. The model we chose has a great feature called "Run through prevention," which basically prevents dogs head as hard as mine run through the hurdle by creating a zone of increasing stimulation as the dog gets closer and closer to the border. I also found this feature to be more humane, it is not only my dog with a hard crash, not just punish it by accident walking around. Instead, the level of discharge you receive is only increased if continues to the border.
In addition, containment systems have this new feature called anti-leakage prevention was created for dogs like mine who sat in the warning area until the warning tone caused the battery to die. When my dog tried to stay in the warning area, warning was hit after a couple of seconds, which continued until he moved out of the area.
And as for the garden, that part was just "The installation of experts." A customer service representative told me through a simple installation process, which was that I dig a foot of cable, cable splicing and adding another that went to my garden, centered around the bed, and back to the original splice in the cable. And what's more, I said to touch the two wires to and from the garden, a practice that nullifies the signal, ie the only active part was the section of wire that surrounds the garden. Therefore, my dog can run anywhere in the garden until he comes within five feet, and that means not eating my flowers!
The containment system again a great success, and my dog now stays within safe and secure. The entire process only cost me $ 150, a fraction of what I paid my local company to go out and do it for me.
